We are very fortunate to have such a caring, dedicated and, nurturing, teaching staff. Our teachers are required to have Federal & State background checks, CPR, First Aid, AED training, Fire Safety, active shooter and ongoing early childhood education training. Teachers take additional training through Pro Solutions Training.

Welcome to St. Matthias Lutheran Church Preschool!
We take pride in offering a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged
6 months-4k. At SMLC Preschool, we believe in providing a well-rounded education that fosters cognitive, social, and emotional development. Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to create an engaging learning experience for all of our students.

*Weekly Chapel for Bible Stories and fun activities that help build their Character!
*Age-Appropriate activities:
-Sensory Play
-Science Fun
-Develop a love of reading by enjoying a variety of books offered in our classrooms, Teachers reading daily to the children, and Phonics activities!
*Find joy through weekly Music classes that will include singing, dancing, instruments, and more!
*Weekly Physical Movement Classes will help the children fine-tune their motor skills and spatial awareness skills!
*Art activities that will also help with their skills and imagination!
We follow the South Carolina Early Learning Standards when planning our Curriculum!
SMLC Preschool is a faith-based program. Developmentally appropriate activity centers and equipment will be available in all of our early learning classrooms. Our vision is to be a place where young children can play & learn in a faith-based environment and where "ordinary can become extraordinary" through age-appropriate & hands-on activities.
- Our classroom teacher-to-child ratios are lower than the state-required ratios. Room placement is based on your child's age as of September 1, 2026.
